Style Icon: British Bitches

The Monarchy is in uproar with the passing of blues legend, press favorite and ironic style icon, Amy Winehouse.
She paved the way for a regeneration of tainted dark pop and made a keyhole for every eccentric girl who could.
A voice that tore open the hearts and tear ducts of billions,
all inside a little ballet flat and a very large beehive.
With the obvious constituents being Adele or maybe even Duffy vocally,
which British bad girl of pop will follow her in fashion history,
and hopefully not carry on the torch of torment?

Jessie J
Deep voiced wonder girl had one of the best selling albums of 2011 overseas. Making charts in over 15 countries, but how surprising for the co-writer of one of the most annoying and overplayed songs of 2010, Party in the USA.
Despite her contributions to pop hall of shame this tough brute takes no shit announcing she can,
' Do It Like a Dude'.
Openly bisexual, badass, and a voice that takes your from reggae to power rock with Micheal Jackson synths in between.
I see huge things for the R&B Soul powerhouse for 2012.

Style: Badass Glam

Ellie Goulding

With influences by the Beatles, this folktronica( as penned by the UK press) has conquered the island by storm being the second artist (behind Adele) to win both Critics Choice Award and Sound of 2010.
Now on tour in the States with her two albums Bright/Lights her musical style has been compared to Bjork, Lykke Li, Kate Nash which makes sense infusing dark lyrics to upbeat dance tracks with a psychedelic influence as well as mastering instruments piano, guitar, drums, and of course her bird like voice.

Style: Girly Rocker Chic

Natalia Kills
Theatrical horror pop has made another baby and shes UK born Ms. Kills.
Mixing her love for cinema and music this Jamaican/Uruguayan femme fatale is coming for revenge.
A very new artist discovered by will.i.am directs her own music videos as well as creating a mini-series, love kills xx, to accompany her debut album as well as a full length film in the works.
Many compare her to the queen of dark hooker pop, lady gaga, but I think comparisons will be renowned for now on as GaGa has set the bar for artists to explore their most inner demons.

Style: Clockwork Horror Hooker

Recent's Past Icons: Natasha Khan
